Fantasia Barrino to Haters: I'm Back!
Take notice, haters: Fantasia Barrino is back!
The former American Idol champion, who swears she really was trying to commit suicide a few weeks ago, hasn't just recovered in time to give multiple interviews on the overdose days before the release of her new album.
She also feels good enough to perform an impromptu concert for fans in Las Vegas
.
That's exactly what happened Friday night at the Palms Hotel, as Fantasia surprised attendees at Rain nightclub and took to the stage. She announced to the crowd:
"They thought I was finished, they thought I was done. I would never ever stop, I don't care what no one says."
Fantasia proceeded to sing "Bittersweet," along with covers of Prince's "Purple Rain
" and Rufus and Chaka Khan's "Tell Me Something Good." She also referenced her recent troubles and added a message:
"I was in the hospital, but now I bounce back. Don't ever let your haters stop you. Don't ever let them stop your destiny."
But will Fantasia's condition put a stop to her publicity efforts? A new report states she's pregnant with Antwaun Cook's child.
We'll keep fans updated on that story as news breaks. For now, click below to enlarge pictures of Fantasia performing in Vegas:
Jacqueline Laurita: Why We Hate Danielle Staub
Danielle Staub
is a former drug dealing prostitute who spends her time on The Real Housewives of New Jersey surrounded by bodyguards with guns, lashing out at her castmates. She's also stalking them.
In other words: there are plenty of reasons to dislike this reality star. But Jacqueline Laurita
has broken it down very simply for readers.
"She had a mission to destroy people," Laurita told People of her co-star's behavior on season two of the Bravo hit. "There was stuff going on that we didn’t talk about because it would draw too much attention to it. If we addressed the lies she was spreading, it [would] keep it going.”
Jacqueline's 19-year old daughter, Ashley, had her own run-in with Danielle during a country club brawl a few episodes ago.
Laurita says she “didn’t always like” how she came off during the show - but that doesn't mean she won't return for season three.
“I would do another season. It’s a chance for you to see yourself as others see you. It’s a growing, learning experience,” she says. “I’m hoping Ashley will see some of how she acts. I see it in myself. When I saw myself being bitter it bothered me.”
Jacqueline also pretty much admits the show is scripted, concluding: "For me it’s a job. It’s entertainment. It’s a show that’s doing very well and we’re doing well."
Michael Jackson Birthday Tributes Abound
The late Michael Jackson would have been 52 today.
The commemoration of his birthday has sparked tributes to the music icon, who died in June 2009, from around the world to his hometown of Gary, Ind.
Members of the Jackson family were on hand in their former home, including Michael's father, Joe Jackson, for the four-day festival in the singer's honor.
Michael Jackson (1958-2009).
Chances are, you already know all there is to know about him - from his music legacy to his personal eccentricities to the charges facing Dr. Conrad Murray. But it's still sad he is gone, especially today. Here is a little photo tribute to MJ ...
Jersey Shore Cast Sued For Assault
The cast of Jersey Shore is being sued, collectively, for assault by a woman who claims she was assaulted by the guidos' and guidettes' security guards.
The claimant, filing suit using initials J.P., says four security guards employed by the show threw her to the ground after a heated argument with Snooki.
Who hasn't been in that situation, really?
SUED AGAIN: Another day, another Jersey Shore lawsuit.
She says her chin was cut and she has a scar from the incident, according to the Asbury Park Press - and not from watching Sammi and Ronnie argue.
This new suit names all the members of the Jersey Shore cast, their bosses at 495 Productions, MTV and its parent company, Viacom as defendants.
Jesse Csincsak and Ann Lueders: Married!
Jesse Csincsak and Ann Lueders are no longer The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, having tied the knot at Rumor Hotel in Las Vegas Saturday night.
"I've waited for this moment my whole life," Csincsak said.
Among the guests were Bachelor alumni Vienna Girardi and Jason and Molly Mesnick. Lueders competed alongside Molly Malaney on Jason's season.
It was a fitting swap for Csincsak and Leuders.
Jason and Jesse vied for DeAnna Pappas on the Bachelorette's fourth season.
"I'm really happy for the two of them," says Jason. "Jesse and I have known each other for a couple of years now. From day one we said we'd be at each other's weddings and that's what we’re doing. He was at ours and we're at his."
Ann Lueders is four months pregnant with the couple's first child as well, a boy they have named Noah. Csincsak proposed August 6. Congratulations!
