In the summer of 2005, MTV began filming the lives of Laguna Beach cast member Lauren Conrad and her college friends for her spin-off reality show, The Hills. Montag's reality TV career began with a few appearances on season two of MTV's Laguna Beach. Montag's friendship with Conrad led to a featured role in The Hills, which premiered on May 31, 2006. Montag was featured in the series sharing an apartment with Conrad while studying at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles. Montag left the Fashion Institute in fall of 2005 when she was hired as an intern at Bolthouse Productions. According to Montag, she dropped out because she "did not find the school challenging". Within two years, Montag was promoted from intern to event planner at Bolthouse, and has no plans to return to fashion school.

She also caught a 'Phantom of the Opera' show with some close friends. She says "It was a fun-filled 3 days, where we went about sight-seeing, watching an opera and generally just letting our hair down. It was a business-cum-pleasure trip and a really good experience. I would love to visit Las Vegas again." And from what we hear she spent Valentine's Day in Las Vegas where her alleged current squeeze Dino Morea also happened to be – coincidence? We think not! Well what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas we guess…

Clad in a white, skin-tight body suit, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” gal dropped the flag to mark the beginning of the eight-day cross country rally involving over 100 cars that travel from NYC to Las Vegas, NV.
